Show producer Dick Wolf is going nowhere and his franchises stay stronger on NBC. The network announced on Monday that his popular series, "Law & Order: SVU," along with "Chicago Med," have been renewed.

The long-running crime drama series, "Law & Order: SVU," is currently on its 17th season, but the network has renewed it for another season. The renewal is part of the new deal between Wolf and the network, and it will run for five years until 2020.

The Mariska Hargitay-starred series reaching this milestone is almost unusual especially in today's TV industry wherein there's a lot of competition going on with shows. It only proves that the series has a solid fan base and that the show continues to deliver fresh and relevant plotlines.

"Law & Order: SVU" continues to maintain its high ratings for the network, but despite that, there had been doubts about the stability of the show in the future because of its age and the planned departure of showrunner Warren Leight by the end of the current season, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

There are also doubts about Hargitay also making it to another season or if she will last until the season reaches its 20th. However, it appears that the actress is also going nowhere based on her tweet on Tuesday.

"So honored 2 have another season to bring u #SVU.We r proud of the work we do and especially grateful 2 our incredible fans #ThankYOU #SVU18," Hargitay wrote.

Apart from "SVU," Wolf's "Chicago Med" was also picked up for a second season given its solid ratings.

"Law & Order: SVU" season 17 garnered an average rating of 2.8 in the 18–49 demo and 10 million viewers all in all for live viewing and digital video recorder (DVR) playback.

Catch new episodes of "Law & Order: SVU" every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
