Kate Middleton baby news: Duchess overdue, might be induced

The world is waiting for royal baby number two who is said to be a bit behind schedule. The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge's due date, which is reported to be April 25 (some say it is April 23), has come and gone but Prince George's little brother or sister is still clinging to mommy.

Despite the baby's supposed late arrival, a family friend assured Us Weekly that Kate is "well" and was, in fact, "in good spirits." The family friend also said that everyone is sharing the same attitude as Prince William's wife, but added that they are "also eager for the time to come."

With this, new reports are saying that Kate might be induced this week so a big welcome revelry will soon be in order. New York Daily News says that it may take two weeks, but rumors say it might happen sooner.

The duchess is, presumably, already four days overdue. For now, she stays at the Kensington Palace where friends pay her a visit. Old friends Guy Pelly and Elizabeth Wilson reportedly dropped by the place recently.

Prince Harry also made it a point to see how Kate is doing when he was in London during the weekend to present medals at the London Marathon. Unfortunately though, the prince will miss the actual birth as he just went back to Australia for an armed forces commitment.

On the other hand, Kate's mother Carole is also with her to take care of baby George. Needless to say, Prince William has set aside his royal commitments to be with his wife and share another precious moment. However, he was present during the ANZAC Day and the Centenary of the Gallipoli Campaign with the Queen on Saturday.

For now, Kate, the palace, and the world are eagerly awaiting the little royal one.
