'Just Cause 3' DLC news update: Expansion Pass to start with 'Sky Fortress'

"Just Cause 3" fans can expect heavy airborne action when its first expansion pack arrives this month, titled "Sky Fortress." Rico Rodriguez, the action star of the open-world game, will receive an upgrade for his wing suit and will be able to fly high and beat his way up to the massive floating structure.

Avalanche Studios, the game developer, has released the trailer for "Sky Fortress," which features Rico wearing a jetpack, going straight up and shooting down drones in mid-air. The add-on gives the action hero additional fire power at his disposal. "Just Cause 3" players have missile rockets and a machine gun to engage those flying drones protecting their airborne installation.

The trailer also shows Rico, being the gung-ho-style action hero, charging head on, dodging every missile and bullet thrown at him by a multitude of drones and other airship defenses. At the end of the clip, Rico simply flies away while the air structure is being torn into bits and pieces by a series of explosions.

"Sky Fortress" is the first DLC of three, which is dubbed the Air, Land and Sea Expansion Pass. The first one can provide players with two to three hours of story content. Square Enix, the game publisher, is targeting an expansion pack every two months starting this month.

Trusted Reviews happened to get their hands on the first DLC early and described the additional missions as a "good play."

The second of the Expansion Pass is called "Land MechAssault," which involves a heavily armored land vehicle, like a tank but with a gravity gun. The third is titled as "Bavarium Sea Heist" but there are no details yet describing it. Exact dates of release are still unknown.

The Expansion Pass is available for $24.99 and lets gamers play the DLC packs a week in advance before the others who purchase them as a stand-alone expansions. "Sky Fortress" is priced at $11.99.
