Jill and Derick Dillard offer refunds after their mission work is criticised

Jill and Derick Dillard, of Duggar family fame, are offering refunds to fans who have donated to fund their missionary work in Central America.

Their missionary work has been criticised on a number of counts, including that after just two months in Central America they returned to the USA for a wedding and a month of seeing friends and family.

The couple have offered refunds to donors who wish to withdraw their support through their non-profit group, Dillard family Ministries.

The Dillard's ministry website now offers refunds for those who have donated.

Visitors to the "Derick and Jill Dillard" Facebook page have accused the couple of pretending to be missionaries.

The Inquisitr wrote that supporters had queried whether their money was going towards missionary work or simply funding flights between the US and Central America.

They noted that, despite the Christian couple saying they were moving to Central America long term, "after just two months [there], the Dillard family was back in the United States."

The couple have not apologised for their visit to the US, rather Dillard wrote about the trip and their planned return to Central America on his blog:

"Jill, [our child] Israel, and I recently arrived back in the States for a planned, month long trip to take care of some things and enjoy time with family and friends while we're here, before heading back to Central America."
