Jesus Loves Leicestershire expecting 6,000 people

About 6,000 people are expected to flock to Leicestershire next month for an event where they will be told: ‘Jesus loves you.'

The aptly named ‘Jesus Loves Leicestershire’ event is being held on September 10 at Humberstone Gate, Leicester.

Led by Resonance and The Oaks of Leicester, the Christian outreach day will open with a powerful rendition of Chris Tomlin's 'How Great Is Our God' before praise groups, an international choir, orchestra and evangelists take to the stage for what promises to be a day of worship, praise and thanksgiving for the whole family.

Whilst children's entertainer, Mr Twister will keep the kids occupied, teenagers will also be ministered to through song, rap and dance.

There will be personal testimonies of healing after disability and abortion. Evangelists and children's dance groups will descend on the city to proclaim the gospel and contribute to a day of fun, fellowship and unity for all.

As the event is taking place, healing rooms, a ministry tent and a prayer gazebo will be situated close to the stage for those who need spiritual support, guidance or personal prayer.

Jesus Loves Leicestershire Chairman Paul Hall, a textile manufacturer from Kibworth, has been the chairman of the event since 2007.

He said: “I feel that taking Jesus onto the streets of Leicester is an incredibly worthwhile cause, but my biggest motivation is a desire to see churches of all denominations working together and to share the Gospel.

"We are all honoured to be able to share the love of God with the people of Leicester.”
