Jeremy Lin updates: Lin believes Brooklyn Nets has good chance in free-agent market, will be involved in recruitment

After Jeremy Lin returned from his injuries, the Brooklyn Nets proved that they are a competitive team by playing well in the final stages of the regular season. Lin believes that they will have a good chance when the pick for 2017 free-agent market opens on July 1.

Lin told New York Post, "I honestly don't think it's going to be that hard of a sell. First of all, it's Brooklyn. It's New York. Second of all, everyone can tell this culture is completely different. You can talk to the players. There's a freshness, a different vibe, and what we did after the All-Star break will help."

Lin also mentioned that other players are asking about them because they saw how coach Kenny Atkinson managed the team and how the teamwork goes in Brooklyn Nets. According to the star player, he and his teammates have been approached by those interested, asking them questions about the team.

He is also sure that he will be involved in the recruitment process this summer, along with Brook Lopez. During the season-ending exit interview earlier this month, he said, "I'm sure I'll be involved," according to NetsDaily.

He continued, "I'm sure when July comes around, I'll be trying to pitch. I'll know what the plans are, and I'm sure I'll be pitching and doing my best to get these guys to come."

Atkinson is also confident that the Brooklyn Nets will not have a hard time in the process, stressing that the team has great fans. He also cited other things that they have, including a great practice facility. He said, "So I just think guys will look at it and say maybe this is a place where I can get an opportunity and help this team improve."

Lin is expected to start as point guard, while Lopez will continue to play center in the upcoming season. Brooklyn Nets is looking at free agents to improve their lineup, with a salary cap of $30 million to $33 million in July.
