One of the world's frontrunners for hip hop and rhythm and blues, Jay-Z is gearing up for a tour which is already being marketed as his highest-grossing solo tour yet. The artist and business mogul has adjusted his ticket prices, selling them for cheaper in order to get ahead of those who plan to sell the tickets themselves.

In a report by Billboard, Jay-Z is selling the tickets for his next tour titled "4:44" on StubHub for $6 each, which is a much cheaper price compared to other shows that have a comparable demand. It has been revealed that the tour has just three dates so far, but sales have shown that records are already being broken for Jay-Z. Compared to the rapper's tour back in 2013, "4:44" has already earned more than 21 percent and the numbers continue to climb.

Initially, people thought that the decline in ticket price was a result of people not coming out to see Brooklyn rapper's shows. However, these speculations have been proven wrong. According to NME, Jay-Z's promoter, Live Nation, has stood firm in saying that "This tour will be the biggest headlining tour of Jay's career."

As reported by The Boom Box, Jay-Z's earnings at his stop in Anaheim, California, reached a massive 49 percent increase compared to his sales for his "Magna Carta" tour back in 2013. Since the ticket prices are low, there is virtually no room for scalpers to raise the prices of the tickets. This means that more people can afford to buy them which is an advantage given Jay-Z's popularity.

Does this move by Jay-Z change the whole nature of ticket sales in concerts? According to XXL Mag, as the times change, artists have been thinking of very creative ways to price their tickets. This, of course, highly depends on the type of artist in question, as well as their demographic, but it is safe to say that cheaper tickets equates to more people.
