'Jane the Virgin' season 2: More 'romantic developments' coming

 The CW

"Jane the Virgin" is another TV series set to return with the second half of its season this month. Season 2B is going to be exciting as it will reportedly tackle Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) romantic life.

According to a report from TV Guide, when "Jane the Virgin" returns, it will focus on the Latina's wedding. And as the season moves toward that direction, fans should expect that there will be "some pretty definitive moves pretty soon," as revealed by show executive producer Jennie Urman, in a report from TV Line.

Urman also promised that the season will also feature "some big romantic developments," although the executive producer did not reveal who among the characters will be involved.

"Without saying who it's between, it's going to definitely resonate between [Jane and Rafael] as parents and also in terms of where they are in their relationship," she continued.

Could the "romantic developments" teased by Urman also involve Jane's grandfather? In the promo trailer for the midseason premiere, titled "Chapter Thirty-One," it was revealed that he is actually gay.

Jane's grandmother, Alba (Ivonne Coll) dropped the huge bomb when she said, "Your grandfather is gay and he left me for a man." Jane's father Rogelio (Jaime Camil) was also shown in the trailer saying graces before the family's meal and mentioning about homosexuality.

Meanwhile, the return of the season will also give focus to Rogelio as he will star in a telenovela about time-traveling with Xo (Andrea Navedo).

Urman continued with more teases about the midseason premiere. She revealed that show antagonist Petra (Yael Grobglas) will give birth in episode 14 and she needs to find some ways to get herself out of the situation that her mother, Magda (Priscilla Barnes), got her into.

"Jane the Virgin" is set to return with more surprises, romances, twists, and family drama. Catch all new episodes starting on Monday, Jan. 25, 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
