Days after the final version of the iOS 11.1 was released, Apple has finally rolled out the iOS 11.2 public beta 2. The latest beta update includes the usual fixes to the issues caused by the preceding iOS version. However, the highlight of the public beta 2 is the Apple Pay Cash feature.
According to the latest reports, it appears that the arrival of Apple Pay Cash in the iOS 11.2 is now confirmed. To note, Apple already introduced the new peer-to-peer payment system during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2017 in May. However, the tech giant did not include this feature when the iOS 11 was first launched in September. Apple could have performed additional changes that took some time before the feature was ready, although the long wait might be worth it given the Apple Pay Cash's advantages.
With Apple Pay Cash, iOS users can now send money to their friends using the app. The device will be basing on the user's credit cards as well as Touch ID and Face ID systems to authenticate the money transfer transaction. Users must first apply their credit or debit cards to Apple's Wallet app before proceeding with the Apple Pay Cash.
The transfer method is a bit different, as the user is not directly sending money to a debit account. Instead, the debit or credit card is used to buy the digital Apple Pay Cash card, which will be sent to the recipient. The Apple Pay Cash card can then be converted to money and deposited into a bank account, or may be used to make purchases within Apple Pay.
Aside from Apple Pay Cash, another important content of the iOS 11.2 public beta 2 is the fix to a strange autocorrect bug. The bug fix was first included in the developer beta for the iOS 11.2, and it is now the public beta testers turn to download the patch. The autocorrect issue was introduced by the iOS 11.1, which replaced the typed "i" character to letter "A" followed by the question mark symbol. Apple already provided a step-by-step guide to temporarily disable the autocorrect bug, but a software update is also expected to be released soon.
The iOS 11.2 public beta 2 is available for download for users that are enrolled in Apple's public beta channel.
