Popular Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is gearing up to release its next smartphone offering belonging to its Ascend lineup on April 15, 2015. However, before the tech firm is able to debrief the technological universe on all the features stuffed in to its upcoming device, Nowhereelse was able to get a hold of the smartphone's blueprint. According to the report present on the website, Huawei's Ascend P8 is expected to feature a fingerprint scanner that will rival the Touch ID interface present in Apple's iOS devices, along with a thin form factor.

Ascend P8 expected to sport impressive hardware specifications

The blueprint leak was able to illustrate the dimensions of Ascend P8. Details of these dimensions have been given below:

  • Length: 5.7 inches (144.9 mm)
  • Width: 2.83 inches (71.9 mm)
  • Depth: 0.26 inches (6.6 mm)

The body of Ascend P8 will measure in at 5.7 inches but its screen size will be 5.2 inches, which is slightly larger than the 5 inch screen size present on Ascend P7. During Mobile World Congress 2015, Huawei was able to showcase its flagship slate, MediaPad X2. The tablet is incorporated with the company's Kirin 930 SoC, and it is expected that Ascend P8 will also be featuring the same one. Kirin 930's octa-core package comprises of the following processors:

  • Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53
  • Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57

Additionally, Ascend P8 is also expected to feature 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, a 13 megapixel rear camera coupled with an 8 megapixel front shooter and a giant sized battery pack, although details on GSMArena state that it will feature a 2,600 mAh battery. Ascend P8 is rumored to sport a battery saving feature in which the handset will disable most of its functions, leaving only the core applications intact in order to conserve as much battery life as possible.

Unfortunately, Ascend P8 will not be incorporated with Huawei's Kirin 940 or 950 SoC since the upcoming chipsets are going to be present in smartphones during Q4, 2015.
