It looks as though the next major trend in gaming is virtual reality (VR). Now, players will have to decide which one might be capable of providing them with the best and most enjoyable experience.

In finding the answer to this question, players need to be able to learn more about the PlayStation VR headset, the Oculus Rift and also the HTC Vive.

Starting with the PlayStation VR, which will obviously be used in concert with the PlayStation 4, this particular headset will be providing gamers with a 5.7-inch full HD display. Beyond that, players will also be viewing the virtual world with the aid of a 100-degree field of vision to help provide a more engaging experience, according to Wareable.

As for the Oculus Rift, this device that can be used with both personal computer (PC) and Xbox One. It will have an OLED screen. One of the more unique aspects of the Oculus Rift is that it will actually display two different images at a time to create a stereoscopic effect, according to Alphr. The addition of a tracking system that moves along with the motions of the player enables the headset to properly adjust the virtual world with every adjustment.

Moving on to the HTC Vive, also known as the Steam VR, the developer edition of this headset currently presents 1080 x 1200 pixel resolution that will be divided across the two eyes of its user. When it comes to motion tracking, the HTC Vive utilizes what is known as Lighthouse tracking, which in turn utilizes elements such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, and a laser sensor to plot the exact position of the user's head, according to IT Pro UK.

The HTC Vive is believed to be the first one to be released of the trio, as it is expected to reach the market by November. Both the Oculus Rift and the PlayStation VR are expected to follow next year.
