While HTC still has to provide details about its upcoming flagship, speculations have already come out on the One M10's specs. The latest rumors say HTC is planning to upgrade the series to a QHD display and an UltraPixel camera assembly.

Reportedly, noted tipster and leaker Evan Blass revealed some specs about the upcoming smartphone, getting tips from an anonymous source. However, the specs themselves haven't been verified yet, as LG still has to release information on the upcoming flagship.

According to Blass, the upcoming HTC One M10 will feature a 5.1-inch QHD display, with 1440 x 2560 resolution, which makes the iteration the first HTC flagship to offer an iteration above 1080p. The industry observer added that based on his sources, the upcoming iteration will also be the first HTC smartphone to feature a fingerprint scanner.

Meanwhile, GSM Arena pointed out that should the speculations about the One M10's main camera be proven true, fans will be looking at improved images and videos. The report mentioned that HTC is featuring a 12-MP UltraPixel assembly for the One M10's main shooter, and will add laser focus and optical image stabilization options. In addition, the front camera will have OIS features, too.

Although some observers say that HTC will out a vastly improved flagship lineup with the One M10 with the reported specs, CNET believes that the Taiwan-based manufacturer is still playing catch-up. According to the industry follower, the sharp display and upgraded camera assembly, as well as the other reported specs of the upcoming lineup, have already been featured in the current flagship iterations of HTC's competitors. Meanwhile, the upcoming One M10's rivals – the Samsung Galaxy S7, the LG G5, and the upcoming iPhones – all boast of next-gen specs and features.
