Fans expected HTC to unveil its newest flagship smartphone early this year. However, the much-anticipated One M10 failed to appear at the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show 2016. Because of this, rumor has it that next month's Mobile World Congress will be the event that HTC will use to unveil the new premium flagship.

However, recent speculations refute this and mention the HTC One M10 will also not appear at the MWC.

According to GSM Arena, although HTC might be one of the participants at this year's Mobile World Congress, the Taiwan-based company will omit the One M10 from its product lineup. Instead, HTC is reportedly planning to have its own press event sometime in March, dedicated to unveiling the upcoming One M10.

The industry follower added that HTC did plan to unveil the One M10 at the MWC but had to re-schedule the unveiling since the management had to return some prototypes back to the development team. In addition, the earlier design of the One M10 was reportedly overhauled, so the launch had to be postponed.

If the rumor of a March unveiling is true, then it dovetails with another speculation, that of the One M10 having an April release in the market. According to TechnoBuffalo, with HTC taking an extra time to fine-tune the One M10, a March launch and April release is plausible.

The HTC One M10 is being hyped to be one of the most awaited flagships for this year. Rumor has it that HTC chose to build the upcoming iteration from the ground up, after the dismal performance of the One M9. The HTC One M10 is said to be carrying an entirely redesigned all-metal body. In addition, its internals are also said to be top-notch, featuring a new Snapdragon 820 processor, 3- or 4-GB RAM, and even a fingerprint scanner.
