'House of Cards' season 4 rumor: New season to premiere with the Underwoods' separation?

While the premiere for the new season of political drama series "House of Cards" is already set for a March 2016 release, other details on how the fourth season will unfold remain sketchy. Speculations however, place that a bombshell will be dropped right from the start – the separation of Frank and Claire Underwood.

According to IB Times, the trailer that appeared highlighting the upcoming fourth season of "House of Cards" may be an indication that the Underwoods' impending separation will take place right at the start of the season. Since this will be the case, the industry follower also predicted that Frank will be campaigning for another term in the presidency without his wife's help.

Centered on the political drama that is Washington, the series observer also hinted that since Frank Underwood is one of the main protagonists in the series, the new season may see him win the elections and secure another term as president, with the election episodes themselves coinciding with real-world events.

Meanwhile, although speculations continue to float online, some story and character details have already been confirmed for the fourth season of "House of Cards."

According to Pop Sugar, it is already confirmed that other stars will be added as characters, starting with Neve Campbell. In addition, there will be another power couple entering the political scene, and they will rival the Underwoods. Finally, with Frank and Claire's marriage on the rocks, the new season will see actor Mike Kelly again working together with Kevin Spacey to secure the presidency a second time and to hopefully regain his stint as Chief of Staff to POTUS.

According to Techno Buffalo, all the questions about the upcoming season will be answered early next year, as the fourth season of "House of Cards" premieres on March 4, 2016.
