Home-School Ministry in Albania to Support Mission Families

New resources and greater convenience will soon be offered to expatriate parents in Albania who choose to home-school their children.

The GDQ School in Tirana will begin Home-school Support Ministry in September 2007 in order to equip teachers of home-schooled children with the same materials used by teachers at the school.

Over 35 families will benefit from the new ministry which has been created for mission personnel who live too far away from the capital to allow their children to attend school at GDQ.

BMS long-term teacher at GDQ, Jane Waites, proposed the idea of HSM back in 2004 to the school's administration and was pleased to report during a visit to BMS' headquarters that the project was finally going to begin.

Ms Waites said, "It's exciting that after many years of planning, HSM will begin helping both the children and parents who, due to distance, must use the home-school approach to education."
