Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro said he still plans on working together with Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima on a project some time in the future.

In an interview with IGN, del Toro said he and Kojima are still in the process of figuring out a project they can work on together, although the director relented on giving any specific details as to what that may ultimately be. The only thing del Toro specifically said is that the new project they will be working will definitely not be "Silent Hills."

In addition to revealing that he and Kojima are in the process of hammering out the details on a new joint venture, del Toro also revealed some details about the cancelled "Silent Hills" title. According to the director, the game was already in the planning stages when it was abruptly scratched. The director even indicated that "Silent Hills" was being designed to be the game that would greatly affect players through a different level of interaction.

The director also revealed some of his personal feelings concerning Kojima, saying he enjoys working with the game designer and that they are both friends.

As of now, little is known about what their joint project could be, but it is likely to gather widespread support given the level of excitement that was building around "Silent Hills."

The cancellation of "Silent Hills" came in the midst of Konami Corporation starting to severe its ties with Kojima after the two sides began to have disagreements, according to Polygon.

Even the playable trailer for "Silent Hills," known as "P.T." was taken down from the PlayStation Store, and only players who downloaded it before and have yet to erase it can still try it out.

In addition to the canceling "Silent Hills," Konami also removed Kojima's name and likeness from the video games that were associated with him.
