Hawaii Five-0" season 7 will see Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) love life get more complicated as he will not just have to deal with the return of Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth) but also the return of Lyn Downey, played by Sarah Carter.

According to a report from TV Line, Carter has been confirmed to reprise her role as Steve's latest love interest and will be back for the series' 150th episode, likely an appearance to resolve his current love triangle with Rollins.

The report points out that Lyn and Steve first met back in season 6 in what was meant to be a regular island adventure but quickly became a dangerous mission when a presumed dead mobster resurfaced to cause trouble. A few episodes after it was revealed Lyn and Steve had been steadily going out.

However, in her last appearance in season 6, she discovered the engagement ring he intended to give to Rollins, and it is uncertain at this point if this forced Lyn to momentarily leave Steve, allowing him to decide who amongst the two was his choice.

Game N Guide points out that back in season 6, Steve has been portrayed as someone so dedicated to his job that he has gotten into several close brushes with death and that the arrival of Lyn may be a sign that he should slow down and re-think his priorities, something that Catherine may not be able to offer given that she is also in the same career.

The report also points out that the executive producer has confirmed that Rollins and Steve are not going to reconcile, and this may indicate that Steve and Lyn will have a chance of fixing their issues and get back together, although this is yet to be seen, and fans could only know for sure when the episode finally airs

"Hawaii Five-0" season 7 premieres this Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
