'Hannibal' season 3: David Bowie to join cast?

 NBC

"Hannibal" fans will love this. The American psychological thriller TV show has been renewed for a third season. This is pretty much what we all know right now and the fact that "Hannibal" creator Bryan Fuller, wants David Bowie to be a part of the show.

Fuller told Screen Rant that his dream cast would include David Bowie. He was supposed to cast Bowie in the second season, but Bowie was too busy to accommodate the role. However, this doesn't mean that Bowie will be busy forever. There is still a chance that Bowie will be in "Hannibal" in season 3. Screen Rant reported that Bowie's people told Fuller to ask them again for his availability, which shows that he has interest in taking on the role.

"So, once we have our dates, we are going to ask again. I think the man walks on water, so I would love to be in his orbit, in some way... He's very aware [of the offer]. But he's also very, very busy," said Fuller.

Bowie isn't the only person he wants to cast. Fuller also wants David Thewlis, Brad Dourif, Kristin Chenoweth, Lee Pace and Anna Friel to hop on board. However, they are very busy people too. Nonetheless, Fuller will remain persistent and will keep checking with them.

Regarding the storyline for season 3, Fuller will take parts from "Hannibal" and "Hannibal Rising." He told TV Guide, "It's going to be fun to bastardize two novels into one sort of Frankenstein season. I will brace everybody right now: We're significantly changing the Hannibal origin story from Hannibal Rising."

There's no official date for "Hannibal" season 3 yet, but it will return to NBC in spring. Meanwhile, "Hannibal" fans can also expect Lady Murasaki, Francis Dolarhyde and Mason Verger in the third season.
