While there are no confirmed details yet on when Rockstar Games plans to release the next installment in the highly popular "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, different speculations and predictions have been made about the title. The latest rumors say that the developer plans to release "Grand Theft Auto VI" as a showcase title for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two.

According to NeuroGadget, observers are expecting the next "Grand Theft Auto" title to offer higher, more detailed specs than the current "GTA V" title. Speculations mentioned that Rockstar Games is already in the process of developing "GTA VI" and, due to expected leaps in story, details, and gameplay, is readying the title for next-gen consoles. In addition, should "GTA VI" really come out in 2018 at the earliest, then it will most likely launch on newly released consoles.

The rumored gameplay and design for "GTA VI" also dovetail with the supposed PS5 and Xbox Two outings. According to Parent Herald, Rockstar Games is thinking of using the latest game engines to accommodate the massive maps of the upcoming title. Reportedly, "GTA VI" will feature an amalgam of previous "Grand Theft Auto" locations, including Liberty City and the current Los Santos setting. As the title will have different areas for exploration, players can freely travel and do missions in each of the locales via teleportation.

In addition, "GTA VI" will supposedly do a 180-degree in its story, which will now feature a law enforcement officer as the main playable character. While it has not been confirmed yet, the industry follower added that there might also be a twist to the story as "GTA VI' will supposedly also feature the first female lead in the series, to be played by Hollywood A-lister Eva Mendes. Another Hollywood celebrity, Ryan Gosling, was also rumored to appear in the title.
