"Grand Theft Auto 6" will be the subject of numerous rumors until official word comes down from Rockstar, and since that hasn't arrived yet, there's now even a new trailer online implying it is a teaser for the much awaited title.
By all accounts, the trailer is indeed fake, and there are more than a few reasons why that is the case.
First off, according to iDigital Times, there seems to be a lack of concentration as it relates to suggesting what setting "Grand Theft Auto 6" is supposed to have, which would obviously not be the case for an official teaser.
The fake trailer seemingly switches between different locales already familiar to fans of the franchise such as Liberty City and Vice City. The trailer even goes so far as to show off a setting that is distinctly reminiscent of London, although it does not exactly suggest that the city is being portrayed.
The trailer itself hints that Vice City will be the setting of the next game, at least judging from the appearance of its logo and its closing shot of a mansion that would fit in nicely with the opulent location. Needless to say, Rockstar has yet to even announce a possible location for "Grand Theft Auto 6," so locking in on Vice City would seem to be nothing more than a guess at this point.
Another giveaway that the trailer is indeed a hoax is the fact that an earlier version of it came out and it displayed a misspelled version of Rockstar's name, according to Metro UK. It seems farfetched to believe that the studio behind "Grand Theft Auto 6" itself would misspell their very own name in the first teaser they are releasing for such a major title.
As of now, fans can only continue to fantasize about "Grand Theft Auto 6" will truly be like and hopefully, a new trailer, a legitimate one, will be coming out soon.
