When Google announced the newest Android 6.0 platform back in September, one of the flagship products that was also introduced was the new Pixel C. The tech giant positioned the newest Android tablet both as a premium device and a capable workhorse, and it got observers wondering which of two premium Android tablets, the other one being the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, is more capable and better designed.
Build and Design
Being the most recent addition, the Google Pixel C enjoys a more updated form factor and build. Google's premium tablet is built in a sturdy anodized aluminum chassis. Meanwhile, the Xperia Z4 tablet has a regular plastic-and-aluminum frame. However, both tablets have the design that looks and feels premium. One clear advantage of the Xperia Z4 tablet, though, is its mobility – it can be used almost anywhere since the body itself is waterproof, a signature feature for recent Xperia lineups.
In addition, the Xperia Z4 Tablet is lighter than the Pixel C, though the dimensions of both devices allow users to carry them conveniently.
Hardware and display
Under the hood, both tablets offer more than adequate specs that make them capable tablet hybrids when worked with keyboard accessories. The Pixel C is powered by the newer Nvidia Tegra X1 processor with 3 GB of RAM and Maxwell Graphics onboard. The older Xperia Z4 Tablet, meanwhile, is also a flagship carrier as it features the Snapdragon 810 chipset and Adreno Graphics, also supported by 3 GB of RAM.
The display of the Pixel C is slightly larger at 10.2 inches compared to the Xperia Z4 Tablet's 10.1-inch. This also translates to Google's flagship having a higher resolution of 2560 x 1800, with pixel density of 308 ppi. Meanwhile, Sony's flagship has a 2560 x 1600 resolution with a lower, 298-ppi density.
