The Google Nexus 6 was initially launched back in 2014 and was developed by Motorola. The phone is one of the last Nexus devices still in the market as Google will be launching the Pixel and Pixel XL soon. Fortunately, Google is still supporting their older phones as the Nexus 6 has received Android 7.0 Nougat support, and it will be getting the 7.1 update before the end of the year.

The Google Nexus is already going to be phased out soon, now with the Pixel and Pixel XL phone unveiled and ready to launch to the market. The update to get Android 7.0, and later, the 7.1 update will be the final updates for the Nexus 6.

iTech Post has revealed that Android 7.0 has been launched for the Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, and Pixel C. It is noted that for some of the older devices like the Nexus 6, there are a few issues, but fans are reportedly still showing gratitude for getting the update.

Also mentioned in the report is the list of other devices that have received the Android 7.0 Nougat update. This list includes several Sony Xperia models, Samsung Galaxy variants, the Motorola Moto X and Moto X, and HTC phones. The OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus 3 are also included in the list.

The Android Developers Blog also reports that the new Android OS is getting an update this coming December. The update will add support for circular icons, app shortcuts, enhanced live wallpaper metadata, and image keyboard support. All of these updates are designed specifically for developers, but their implementation with apps will be also be enjoyed by the consumers.

Google has yet to announce a full list of features that will come with the Android 7.1 update, but it is likely that it will improve on what works for the original 7.0 Nougat. The Google Nexus 6 will be getting the update, but it is possible that it won't be getting all of the features, particularly if the phone cannot handle the processing requirements to properly perform them all.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
