Golden State Warriors trade rumors: Draymon Green being sidelined for DeMarcus Cousins?

Reportedly, being always on the spotlight for the wrong reasons may see Draymond Green booted out of the Golden State Warriors.

According to Morning News USA, the Golden State Warriors management may be cooking up a trade for Draymond Green, getting DeMarcus Cousins in his stead. While the deal has not been confirmed, it is believed that Cousins is the first on the list, owing to a longtime friendship with GSW's Splash brothers Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. In addition, the center position is a fit for Cousins, as GSW may also be looking for a long-time standby for Zaza Pachulia, who in turn has been signed on as replacement for Andrew Bogut.

As for Green, his antics both on- and off-court may be one factor why rumors of his impending trade from the GSW keep on cropping up, despite the versatile forward being hailed as a shoo-in for top-10 players in the league. Many fans are insisting that Green's trouble with technical fouls costed the team a back-to-back Finals championship ring, even with a 3-1 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Green's flagrant fouls saw the center being suspended in Game 5 of the Finals. Meanwhile, his off-court troubles also started barely weeks after the league ender, as Green was arrested for an altercation.

It remains to be seen if Green will eventually be out of the GSW. In the meantime, the team is rebuilding itself as one of the dominant powerhouses for the next season. Reportedly, another member being scouted is Phil Pressey. If the training sessions earn Pressey a spot with the team, the NBA veteran will join GSW for another shot at the season title. Pressey has been playing for a couple of teams since his start with the Boston Celtics, playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, and in the last season, managing 23 games with the Phoenix Suns.
