Fans of the original movies initially had doubts about an all-female "Ghostbusters" reboot, but now, people are starting to get intrigued by the upcoming film — which stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon — as it has now started filming in Boston, and the first clip was revealed by Entertainment Tonight this week.

The short video gives a clue as to what can be expected from the upcoming film. In the clip, Wiig is seen in a very '80s inspired outfit. In addition to the video, Cinemablend reports that fans on Instagram have captured more images from the shoot which show a first look at McCarthy and McKinnon in their respective costumes.

Meanwhile, a Boston Herald insider has managed to spirit out a few choice details about the film's plot. According to the source, Wiig and McCarthy will play a pair of obscure writers who once published a book speculating on the existence of ghosts. Several years later, Wiig lands a prestigious teaching role at New York's Columbia University, but when her earlier work comes to light, she is "laughed out of academia." But when the city is invaded by an army of supernatural beings, the pair ends up strapping on their proton packs to save the world. McKinnon is said to play McCarthy's new partner, and Jones will reportedly play a subway worker who discovers one of the new film's earliest supernatural occurrences.

Moreover, the Ghostbusters aren't complete without Janine, who is the group's receptionist. In this gender-swapped version of the film, the receptionist is named Kevin and will be played by "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth.

There has been talk about cameos from Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, the latter having come up with the idea for the original "Ghostbusters." Aykroyd is said to be in negotiations to cameo as the returning Dr. Raymond "Ray" Stanz.

The "Ghostbusters" reboot is slated to premiere on July 22, 2016.
