Fans who have been inching to try out Tom Clancy's critically-acclaimed "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" still have two days to check it out for free.
Last Thursday, Oct. 12, Ubisoft opened the game for free to all PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 (PS4) users, a treat that will remain so until Sunday, Oct. 15.
The main game will be available to players — that means a diverse ecosystem packed with exciting missions for single players as well as squads of up to four players. They will have a wide array of vehicles, weapons and abilities at their disposal to handle whatever situation they find themselves in as they try to take down Santa Blanca.
This includes the brand new and more competitive four versus four death match mode called "Ghost War," which launched earlier this week — an update that is also free for those who already own the game. Here, players will be able to revive teammates and tag enemies in three 10-minute rounds.
They can choose among the 12 distinct classes — Scout, Pointman, Tank, Enforcer, Sniper, Artillery, Assassin, Diversionist, Medic, Ranger, Sentinel, and Tech — and battle an enemy team in an intense multiplayer across eight maps. As the "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" announcement says, "Only the strongest and most prepared Ghosts will survive this extreme adversarial experience."
Those who enjoyed playing the tactical-action shooter game during the free weekend can purchase it for 50% off — that's $30 — from Oct. 12 to Oct. 16. For Uplay PC, PS4, and Xbox Live Gold members, the sale will continue until Oct. 23. All progress made during the free weekend will be carried over to the full game if the player decides to purchase, so that no second or effort would be wasted.
The free play period for PC will end on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. PDT, while the Xbox One and PS4 versions will end a little later at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
