'Game of Thrones' season 7 spoilers: Sophie Turner teases Sansa Stark's fate

Game of Thrones - Sansa Stark HBO

"Game of Thrones" season 7 will be the penultimate season for the series as the stories start coming to an end. Recently, actress Sophie Turner teased what may become of her character. Speaking to Variety during the Power of Young Hollywood event, she confirmed that she had just received her copy of the script for season 7.

According to Turner, there are a lot of directions her character could go given how season 6 ended. She teases that Sansa could be joining up with her brother, Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who has been revealed to be Sansa's cousin given he is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, or she might be going on the dark side.

"There are so many options," she stated. "She could run with Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) and become a villain and be sadistic. Or she could also team up with her brother Jon."

Previous seasons have been setting up Sansa to become a darker and more cruel character who would take political power and use it against others in ways soldiers and fighters like Jon Snow could not. She has been receiving a lot of this experience from Petyr Baelish aka Littlefinger and an alliance between them is within the realms of possibility.

This is further enhances by the fact that Petyr desires Sansa. Petyr did fall in love with Sansa's mother and he may be aiming to claim Sansa instead given that Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) is now dead.

When asked if Sansa would die and how she should die, Turner joked that the episode should focus entirely on Sansa's death and make it a slow, painful process. This was stated in a joking manner however and is not an indication that Sansa is indeed going to be killed off in season 7.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 will premiere in summer 2017.
