There are still three long weeks left before the world can watch the premiere episode of "Game of Thrones" season 5, but fans are already excited to find out what is in store for their favorite characters in the next installment of the TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's best-selling novels.

Recently, series showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, as well as producer Bryan Cogman, talked about the future of the popular characters in the show during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. They also discussed how the series will evolve this season.

According to Benioff, the different kingdoms of Westeros will be colliding with each other in season 5. They also introduced several new locations that were never seen before. Cogman, on the other hand, shared that most of the major characters will find themselves with some sort of power this season, whether intentional or not.

Benioff also shared where some of the characters will be in season 5. According to the showrunner, Arya (Maisie Williams) will try to find herself in Braavos, which is very exciting for the character. Meanwhile, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will be faced with a huge responsibility after he proved that he can be a leader of men during the Battle of Castle Black. He will also see himself in the middle of two opposing kings, Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) and Mance Rayder (Ciaran Hinds), both of whom he admire. However, he would find it hard to make them come up with a compromise.

The series showrunner also talked about two of the most powerful women in Westeros. One of them is Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), who almost lost everything in season 4. It would be interesting to see how the Queen Regent recovers after losing both her favorite son and father last season, while letting go of her youngest child to be the next king.

On the other hand, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) will be facing a lot of leadership challenges this season. According to Benioff, the Mother of Dragons did well in conquering kingdoms last season, but she will have a hard time leading all of it, particularly the city of Meereen.

Also, Dany's dragons will be given a huge story arc this season. She could release them from the tomb, but can she manage to control them to retain the title "Mother of Dragons?"

"Game of Thrones" season 5 premieres on April 12 on HBO.
