Samsung's new Galaxy View could be the next big thing from the Korean electronics company.

If the name Galaxy View is unfamiliar, that is likely because it's not what this latest offering from Samsung was known by earlier on in 2015.

Way back in January, rumors began to surface about a new Samsung product that had been dubbed the Tab S Pro, according to Phone Arena.

Interestingly enough, the Galaxy Tab S Pro, at least as it was known then, would supposedly feature a Super AMOLED display that was larger than 12 inches. It would also reportedly be optimized for both work and learning related purposes. As it turns out, the larger than 12 inches part of those rumors back then proved to be true, although they were far from truly providing an idea of what the device would ultimately be.

During this year's now concluded IFA event, Samsung teased the Galaxy View, the same device that had been known as the Galaxy Tab S Pro earlier in 2015, according to Digital Trends.

It did end up having a screen that was bigger than 12 inches, more than six inches in fact, as the Galaxy View features a gargantuan 18.4-inch display.

Aside from its size, other specs of the Galaxy View were revealed at the event, including its 1.6 GHz 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7580 processor that is paired up with 2 GB of RAM. It also reportedly features 32 GB of internal storage that can be expanded through the use of a microSD card. It will also reportedly have an eight megapixel rear camera with one up front at 2.1 megapixels.

If the supposed specs end up being true, then the Galaxy View would be armed with features that are a significant step down from the ones found on the Galaxy Tab S2. Samsung supposedly went with a less expensive array of features to control costs for the Galaxy View.
