Google revealed the upcoming Android M platform during its I/O Conference last week, and most tech manufacturers are already lining up for the upcoming platform's update on their devices. Contrary to the hype though, Korea-based Samsung is concentrating on completing a Lollipop update for its product line-up.
According to reports, the tech giant are already in the testing phase on the development of the latest Android 5.1.1 update, to be integrated to its smartphones and tablets. Interestingly, among the first in the line to receive the new Android update is Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 device.
The Note line-up has long been considered by many fans as one of the best smartphones Samsung has offered, and the products have been consistently rated and reviewed, and enjoys a huge following. This might be why Samsung has decided to make the new 5.1.1 Lollipop available for the Galaxy Note 4 first, with other devices soon to follow.
As said by Samsung fan and observer site SamMobile based on their inside sources in the company, as far as developments go, Samsung is already on the verge of releasing the new Android update. The website then said that the Note 4 would be slated to receive the update by the end of July.
With the impending release of the update on the Galaxy Note 4, it is unclear if the device is the very first to receive the update. There are rumors currently circulating that the current flagships Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be receiving the Android 5.1.1 a month earlier, with speculations saying that the two newest Samsung products will be receiving an update before June ends.
The new Android 5.1.1 update is said to be the last major Lollipop update, and the version will be paving the way for the much-awaited release of Android M.
