Gaither Music Group counts its blessings

Gaither Music Group is set to release two brand new Homecoming DVDs and two accompanying CDs, Giving Thanks and Count Your Blessings, on September 28.

Hosted by Bill Gaither and featuring a combined total of 215 minutes of music and "moments", these two unique keepsakes feature gospel music's finest voices in a moving celebration where "gratitude" is the theme.

This epic family gathering takes place in the cozy great room of The Fontanel in Nashville, Tennessee, a lovely log cabin that once served as the beloved home of Barbara Mandrell and her family.

Drawing back to the warmth and spontaneity of the earliest Homecoming tapings, Bill Gaither invites the Homecoming artists to share songs of thanks and testimonies of gratitude to God, to one another and to the heroes who paved the way for gospel music.

The outpouring of gratitude in these celebrations creates a musical Thanksgiving feast for the soul where the songs aren't "performed" as much as they are "savoured". And in addition to moving moments by such artists as Tony & Taranda Greene, Dallas Holm, Steve Green, Joy Gardner, Lynda Randle, the Gaither Vocal Band, Russ Taff, Guy Penrod, Marshall Hall, the Isaacs, the Hoppers, Legacy Five and a host of others, the Homecoming family was treated to a surprise appearance by legendary country icon, Ronnie Milsap, which turned out to be one of the many highlights of the day.

"A spirit of gratitude is one of the simplest, yet most powerful ways each of us can make our relationships, our communities and our world a whole lot happier. As I watched this roomful of artists offer up their thanks, it was wonderful to see how their gratitude spilled out on one another," said Bill Gaither.

"The cameras captured something entirely intangible, and I am so pleased that the contagious spirit in that room can now be shared with people all over the world. This is, without a doubt, among the most important experiences I have ever witnessed."

Giving Thanks and Count Your Blessings are distributed in the UK and Ireland by Integrity-Provident Distribution and will be available wherever Christian music is sold beginning September 28.
