Fox's 'Lucifer' stirs up more controversy by giving God a wife who escaped from hell

Fox's show "Lucifer" has already been vilified for disrespecting God and Christianity by presenting Satan as a selfless and sympathetic character who is simply bored in hell. Now, the show is pushing another outlandish and outrageous idea—that God has a wife who just managed to escape from hell.

The show's season finale entitled "Take Me Back to Hell" provided many surprising twists and turns, but nothing could top the revelation that Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and his angel brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) have been keeping their mother trapped in hell.

Lucifer told Amenadiel that God has allowed him to stay on Earth just as long as he is able to bring one prisoner back, according to Charisma News.

"Someone's escaped from hell. Must've seen a window of opportunity whilst you were incapacitated. I think He wants me to bring our jailbird back," Lucifer told his brother.

"That's it? Well, it shouldn't be too hard to track down a single errant soul. You're afraid?" Amenadiel told him.

Lucifer did not hide his fear, so Amenadiel had to ask him, "Right, but you're never afraid. Who could possibly scare you, brother? Lucifer, who escaped hell?" Lucifer simply answered, "Mum."

The television watchdog group One Million Moms recently reiterated its call for Fox to drop the show. The group warns on its website that the show is "spiritually dangerous" because it makes the devil "look cool and irresistible to women."

The group says "Lucifer" is making "people rethink assumptions about good and evil, including God and Satan."

To make matters worse, the show features graphic acts of violence and is set in a nightclub featuring scantily-clad women and a demon.

"The message of the show is clear. Lucifer is just misunderstood. He doesn't want to be a bad guy, it's God who is forcing him to play that role," the group says.
