It was all the way back in January 2017 that Nintendo announced that Fire Emblem: Three Houses would be coming to the Switch. At that time, the game was slated for a 2018 release.
The E3 convention taking place in Los Angeles this week keeps throwing out some interesting treats for gamers and one new update concerns the release date for the new Fire Emblem: Three Houses game.
It's no longer coming out this year. Fire Emblem fans will now have to wait until 2019 to get their hands on this awesome-looking title. Nintendo made the announcement at the Nintendo Direct event that took place today.
It will be a step up from the Fire Emblem: Warriors spinoff game that made its way out to the Switch last year and there's a lot to look forward to as it's set to improve on the stunted visuals of the 3DS titles Fire Emblem Awakening, Fates (Birthright and Conquest) and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
From the teaser trailer, the artwork certainly looks beautiful and it looks like we'll see the quality tactical combat that we've seen in the previous titles, although it does look like it will have a much darker vibe than before.
There will be some other changes to the game too, for example different troop formations that will change the dynamics of the battles.
The trailer also teases some anime cut scenes and a top-down view for moving the troops around. And certainly, the battles look to be on a larger scale for the Switch than what we've previously seen in the series. But it's not just large scale battles; there will also be opportunities for up close combat action.
As USGamer notes, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the first main game from the series to make it out on the Nintendo Switch.
