Square Enix finally released the much-anticipated Ignis Scientia episode DLC in its role-playing video game "Final Fantasy XV." The DLC brings a new ally and the chance to defeat Noctis.

The DLC content "Episode Ignis" centers on Ignis as he protects Prince Noctis across Altissia against fiends and Ardyn. Ignis will be accompanied by Lunafreya's older brother Ravus Nox Fleuret. Upon completing the entire episode, players will unlock a bonus fight that pits Ignis against his good friend Noctis. The DLC also brings new music composition by Yasunori Mitsuda. It has been 20 years since Mitsuda last worked with Square Enix.

The episode for Ignis has three endings in total. The ending will reflect the decision the play had made throughout the campaign. There are the true, bad, and alternate endings. Ignis' episode was well received by gamers and critics. The DLC update is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for only $5.

All solo episodes of Noctis' companions are already released -- Gladio, Prompto, and Ignis. Square Enix also released a new update in December that allows players to utilize all four characters during combat. This allows players to change their primary character from Noctis to either Gladio, Prompto, or Ignis at will.

Gamers can now download the update that includes the Character Swapping function. PlayStation 4 gamers will need 13 GB for the update and 18 GB for Xbox One.

"Final Fantasy XV" keeps its gamers entertained and engaged with new contents. There are still no news from the developer if it has new updates to be launched in 2018. Square Enix already has a few upcoming releases in 2018 like "Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" and the remake of "Final Fantasy VII."

"Final Fantasy XV" received impressive ratings from video game critics. The game got an 8.2 out of 10 score from IGN, 4 out of 5 from Trusted Reviews, and 8 out of 10 from GameSpot.
