After its release on July 11, the fantasy role-playing video game "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" became a big hit in several countries worldwide, especially in Europe and North America. Over one million copies of the game have reportedly been sold worldwide.

Square Enix published a news release to extend their appreciation to "Final Fantasy" fans for their support. Producer Hiroaki Kato said, "Thank you to all the fans for helping us reach this milestone. We are overwhelmed with the response from both new players and fans of the original."

The Zodiac Age edition came to the PlayStation 4 console with highly improved graphic details, new arranged soundtrack, additional battle features, and more. One of the biggest alterations made in the game is the updated gambit system with a new Zodiac-Job system. Players can venture across the world of Ivalice with innovative upgrades to the gameplay.

The game received an impressive score of 8.8 out of 10 from IGN and 86% rating from Metacritic.

Other than "Final Fantasy XII," Square Enix also developed remastered versions for "Final Fantasy IX," "Final Fantasy X," and "Final Fantasy X-2." Most of these remastered version video games had been well received by new and longtime fans of "Final Fantasy."

Next in line is the remake of one the best "Final Fantasy" games, the "Final Fantasy 7." The game was confirmed to be in the middle of production but there are still no release date announcements. Fans are hoping for Square Enix to provide an update on the release date of the game in December.

Some speculations among fans and game experts indicate that the game will be released in 2018. Gamers are also asking if the remake will feature a Japanese role-playing game mode just like the original game or an action role-playing gameplay like "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII."
