With "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" being a no-show at the Tokyo Game Show 2016, it is said that Square Enix is thinking of releasing the game in the distant future.

According to speculations, it is likely that the publisher decided to not include "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" in its games lineup at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2016 since the title's scheduled release is not that soon. While Square Enix has yet to come out with a release date for the game, rumors suggest that the current games schedule places a late 2017 release for "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."

Square Enix has already come out with it games list for the TGS. On its official event website, the publisher listed some big-name game installments, most notably "Final Fantasy XV" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue."

Other titles to be showcased for the trade show include the new "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" sequel, as well as the new "Hitman" game. The latter is interesting to observe, as it is confirmed that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will follow the release format of "Hitman." This means that instead of one full-version launch, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will come out as a multi-part game, each release coming out as post-launch episodes.

This year's Tokyo Game Show is slated to happen from Sept. 15 to 18, with Square Enix also planning a livestream for its showcase events in the last two days.

Meanwhile, it is also interesting to note that absent from the list is the much-awaited "Kingdom Hearts 3." This may also mean that the new game, together with "Final Fantasy 7 Remake," is slated for the latter part of 2017 and beyond. Square Enix will then have other big trade shows lined up to announce the games, most notably the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017, scheduled for June 13 to 15, 2017.
