Fast And The Furious 8 plot news: old buddies to reunite as new cast

Vin Diesel revealed at last year's Universal Pictures' presentation at CinemaCon, LA, that Fast 8, the next movie of the F&F series would be released on 14 April, 2017.

Although most of the F&F films took place in California, Fast 8 is set in New York City, according to Vin Diesel's Instagram post.

Despite the unmatchable success of the series so far, the movie is not without contenders. As Fast 8 is expected to open on April 14, 2017, competition is expected from Fox Searchlight's "Gifted".

Fast 8 has a lot of new shiny armour including a new director in the form of F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and although he has some thrillers on the resume, he hasn't really worked in a Fast film. So will he be able to deliver the quality that the Fast movies are known for?

It also remains to be seen as to how the film bids farewell to Brian (Paul Walker) and whether his death finds mention in the sequel.

Rumors are rife about the crew for Fast 8 as Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez,Tyrese Gibson and even the Rock are expected to be part of the growing cast. Meanwhile it is confirmed that Scott Eastwood (Clint Eastwood's son) and Mad Max star Charlize Theron will be acting in the movie.

At least Rock will definitely make a comeback as Luke Hobbs, the security service agent who joined team Furious in earlier sequels, which is clear from his photos appearing in the movie's Iceland scenes.

As Fast 8 shoots in multiple locations such as the exotic landscape of Arkanes, Iceland, it is also supposed to have filmed scenes in Cuba, making Fast 8 the first film to do so since turbulent times in US-Cuba relations.

Also making it to the official facebook page are the cool cars that are part of their army with a RallyFighter, a Lamborghini, Dodge Chargers one Subaru WRX STI and other cool cars being dubbed as the 'ice cars'.

With the tag line reading 'New Roads Ahead', audiences are gripped; their fingers crossed as to where these new roads might lead the Furious gang in its adventures.
