Turtle Rock Studios has released the minimum and recommended system requirements for its upcoming asymmetrical, co-operative shooter title "Evolve" for the PC platform. Similar to the system requirements of the open world RPG title "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," "Evolve" will only be compatible on 64-bit operating systems of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 due to the minimum amount of memory required to run the game (4 GB). The title will not work on Windows XP as it does not provide support for Microsoft's DirectX 11 API.
Starting off, in order to play "Evolve," gamers are required to have Intel's Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD's Athlon 64 X2 6400 as a bare minimum. For maximum performance, however, Turtle Rock Studios has stated that PC gamers should have a Core i7-920 or A8-3870K present in their system.
Additionally, a gamer's machine should also be equipped with an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 560 or AMD's Radeon HD 5770 to play the game at respectable frames, whereas if a player wants to immerse in "Evolve" at its highest graphical settings, then having a GeForce GTX 670, GTX 760, or Radeon R9 280 is recommended.
Gamers should also make sure that their hard drives have at least 50 GB worth of free space in order to install the game without running into storage issues. Similar to upcoming titles, "Evolve" supports 4K resolution at launch (3840 x 2160 pixels). However, Turtle Rock says that gamers who have adopted a dual GPU configuration (such as NVIDIA's SLI or AMD's CrossFire X) will be running into issues.
The game developer has stated that it is currently working on making sure that future patches will be able to alleviate the problem but gamers will not be able to take advantage of the dual GPU setups when the game officially launches on Feb. 10.
