Evangelicals urged to come out in droves for Jan. 21-22 March for Life event in D.C.

Two well-known evangelical leaders are stressing the need for Christians to take a stand against abortion and uphold the rights of the unborn.

Russell Moore, who is the president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), and Focus on the Family President Jim Daly held a press conference last Wednesday to talk about their strategy for the 2016 March for Life event, which will be held from Jan. 21 to 22 in Washington, D.C.

The event is poised to become the biggest pro-life rally in the world, according to CBN. It will include an Evangelicals for Life conference that will tackle life issues such as abortion, human trafficking, abortion, euthanasia, and related topics.

Moore and Daly are urging evangelicals to attend the event. In previous years, majority of March for Life attendees were Catholics.

"Given the strong pro-life witness of evangelical churches around this country we need to be present here and join arms with our allies on this issue," Moore said. "I don't want any fewer Roman Catholics at the March for Life, but we need evangelicals to be present there as well."

For his part, Daly said he is deeply inspired since more and more young people are now sharing their pro-life beliefs. In fact, modern technology has played a significant role in enriching the minds of people with regards to the dignity of the unborn.

Focus on the Family has spent $30 million in the purchase of ultrasound machines for distribution in various clinics and hospitals across America.

Moore and Daly said 2016 will be an important year for people to tackle pro-life issues as well as pick out a leader who will support and advance the group's values.
