Erica Mena is leaving "Love & Hip Hop New York" after being in the show for three seasons. The reality star announced her departure from the VH1 series, which wrapped up its fifth season just recently, in a heartfelt open letter she shared via Instagram.

"Four years ago became #MenaMonday I let the world in and it's been a crazy ride since," the singer-actress recalled as she penned the beginning of her tear-jerking letter.

"I've always been open about who I am [and] my relationships just because I know my story was meant to be told. I've made many mistakes and I get judge[d] harshly. Thank God I'm as tough and bold as I am because the truth is many are like me," she continued.

Mena did not detail the real reason for her farewell to the show but there are reports saying that her upcoming marriage to Shad Moss better known as Bow Wow led the reality star to the decision to drop the show.

The rapper and the reality star will be exchanging their "I Dos" this month but the couple did not announce a specific date on when they will officially become Mr. and Mrs. Moss.

In the letter, she emphasized and promised that she will remain "open and real" to her fans even after leaving "Love & Hip Hop New York." It was at this juncture that she also apologized for certain things that have to do with her dating life.

"I have fan base that now has become my family! I can't thank you all enough for following & riding this ride. You are all appreciated. Learning from my mistakes and loving me no matter what rumors are made up," she went on to say.

"This chapter has ended but the real deal is the journey has just begun," she then said, wrapping up the letter with words of good luck and best wishes.
