With "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" news sprucing left and right, it's getting hard to confirm which is true or not. But there's one significant rumor that needs to be talked about and it's regarding Batman's trusty sidekick, Robin.

There have been speculations that Robin will be in the movie, but this time, the twist is that Robin is to be female.  According to Variety, Kirk Montgomery, a news station reporter for WILX-10 (Detroit news station), was able to speak to an extra in the movie. Apparently, that extra spilled the news that Robin will indeed be a female version.

Following that rumor, another rumor exploded  about actress Jena Malone playing the role of the female Robin. With all the buzz going around, E! Online just had to ask her about it.

When they caught up with the actress, they asked, "So, are you the new Robin?"

Malone reportedly didn't say anything, nor did her facial expression change. According to ComicBook.com, it's actually common practice for actors and actresses to either evade or lie about their project connections, especially in the early stages. And with "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" trying to keep spoilers on the down low, Malone may have just dropped the biggest hint yet.

Malone has been seen on the set of the movie. At first, it was speculated that she was just there because she is friends with director Zack Snyder. The two worked together in "Sucker Punch." But in the past weeks, coincidentally, Malone has been spotted more frequently on the set of the movie when the rumor of her landing the female Robin role started making rounds.

And to top it all off, Malone's hair color may already be a dead giveaway. She is now sporting a bright red hair color, which is just what the female Robin looks like.

Warner Bros. has not made a comment. Malone has no comment. Whether they do or not, the bets are on if Malone is playing Robin.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
