"Edge of Tomorrow" went through numerous hurdles during production, but when it finally came out, it was highly praised by critics and fans, managing to earn over $370 Million worldwide. A sequel is now in development, and director Doug Liman teases that it is not going to be like any other sequel in film history.

Speaking to Collider, Liman pointed out that he has never directed a sequel before, except for this film. He continued to explain that one of the reasons why he agreed to come back for this one was because the story was, according to him, even better than the one in the first film.

Liman then explained that the second movie was not just a sequel but a "sequel that's a prequel." According to Collider, this indicates that the time-travelling element from the first movie will be making a return in the second film.

It is also speculated that the second movie will tackle the very same day that the first movie covered but now in a new perspective. This is because the first movie ended with Tom Cruise's character regaining his time-travelling abilities and resetting the day to the very beginning, but this time, being able to properly stop the invasion.

"I had these intellectual ideas on how you should make a sequel that are unlike how anybody else makes a sequel, and this script and this idea fit perfectly into that idea. So it's gonna revolutionize how people make sequels." he explained.

The report further points out that while director Christopher McQuarrie is involved in crafting the story, the script that Liman is very excited about was actually penned by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. McQuarrie did get to collaborate with Tom Cruise outside the first "Edge of Tomorrow" as he was brought in to direct "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation."

"Edge of Tomorrow 2" has no official release date as of writing.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
