Easter 2014: Ed Young's church hoping for world record with giant Jesus in chalk

Ed Young is thrilled at the success of his church's very novel way of sharing Jesus with people this Easter - a giant image of Jesus drawn in chalk.

The supersized image has been carefully drawn on the parking lot of Grapevine Fellowship Church, next to the busy Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

It's the perfect location to make sure the image is seen by thousands of passengers flying over the site each day, but even at ground level, it's drawn large crowds and caught the attention of local newscasters.

And it seems like the good weather will hold out just long enough for the image to last over the Easter weekend - rain is set to move in next week.

"Thank you to everyone who came out to participate in drawing the largest chalk portrait of Jesus! We made history and we couldn't have done it without you. This is what it is all about at Fellowship Church - pointing people to Jesus," the church leadership shared.
