'Dragon Ball Super' episode 57, 58 spoilers: next episodes explain Zamasu and Goku Black's connection

"Dragon Ball Super" has seen Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks head to the future in order to deal with Goku Black and the mysterious villain Zamasu. According to a report from Yibada, episodes 57 and 58 will finally reveal the unique connection between the two characters and will confirm or deny whether or not the two are one and the same.

Episode 57, titled "Advent of the Immortal God," Zamasu, hints that the character will reveal who he really is, what his goals are and what kind of being he truly is. It is hinted that he may be some form of celestial god akin to Beerus and Whis but on a different scale of power.

Episode 58 is titled "The Mystery of Black and Zamasu" is speculated to explore the connections between the two. Fans speculate that Zamasu and Goku Black may be the same character under different guises while some fans speculate that Goku Black is Future Goku possessed by Zamasu. 

University Herald reveals that the release dates for the two episodes have also been leaked online. Episode 57 will officially launch on Sept. 4 while episode 58 will release on Sept. 11. The report also reveals that no episode is scheduled to release on Sept. 18, meaning the series is going to take a short break before the release of episode 59.

Episode 56, the most recently aired episode of the series, showcased the more powerful form of Goku Black. Akin to the Super Saiyan transformation of Goku, Vegeta and other Saiyans, Goku Black's hair changes form and color but instead of turning golden yellow it becomes red-pink with white streaks.

The episode also revealed that Future Trunks' romantic interest, Mai, survived and is still alive. The group encountered her after the time machine had been fixed and they were able to travel to Future Trunks' timeline where Goku Black had already destroyed much of the world.
