Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has long been supported by the faith community, but a lot of them backed out on him after a leaked video showing him making lewd comments on women surfaced.
However, Pastor Jack Graham, author of several books such as "Unseen" and "Angels," is among those who remain loyal to Trump and his Religious Advisory Council, according to The Christian Post.
For the past five months, Graham and 24 others have been tasked to offer prayer, spiritual support and pastoral counsel to Trump and his team. They weren't asked to campaign for the candidate, but were urged to speak frankly and freely instead.
"I can tell you from my perspective, we have been given generous access to Mr. Trump and vice presidential nominee Mike Pence," Graham said. "In fact, I have been amazed as to how much freedom the council has been offered and the willingness of Mr. Trump to listen."
But ever since he joined Trump's team, Graham has been asked questions pertaining to the business magnate's character and his qualifications for president. The questions have become even more intense after the video of Trump making lewd remarks on women leaked out last week.
So what has Trump's spiritual advisers done after this?
"I, along with every member of the council, have expressed outrage at such vile language and disgraceful views toward women. There is no defence for this very sinful and immoral behavior. This has been clearly communicated to Mr. Trump himself, who has apologised to his family, friends and to the American people," said Graham.
But when asked if Trump is a better man today, Graham said he remains hopeful and prayerful. He said Trump has been confronted with his sin, and he has "heard God's truth and has been offered grace and forgiveness."
Graham said he and other spiritual advisers of the presidential hopeful merely offer counsel and faithful witness, leaving it up to Trump to take heed or not. Without question, Graham said the message has been faithfully delivered.
"As far as qualifications to serve our country as president, that is a decision voters will make November 8. I have written previously as to why I can vote for Donald Trump without endorsing his behaviour," he said.
Graham said the elections should not be based on Trump's past, but on America's future. "With Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Christians have an opportunity to influence our government and practice our religious freedoms," he said.
