'Divinity: Original Sin II' release date news: Game to enter Steam Early Access in September

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Larian Studios

"Divinity: Original Sin" has become one of the most successful games to have started as a Kickstarter project and the game is officially getting a sequel, given that the sequel's Kickstarter campaign amassed over $2 Million. According to a report from Gamespot, players will be able to try "Divinity: Original Sin II" when it launches on Steam Early Access this September.

Given that it is still in Early Access the game is not yet finished and only a portion of the game will be playable as well as the competitive online multiplayer mode called Arena. Players will be able to access five playable races and co-op mode for up to four players.

The game is also likely going to contain several bugs and glitches as the game is still unfinished but Early Access does have a system to allow players to report such issues to the developers, ensuring that the final build is cleaner and runs smoother.

According to Gamespot, "Divinity: Original Sin II" will cost a total of $45 for those who pick it up on Steam. However, players who initially backed the game on Kickstarter at an appropriate donation tier will get it for free. Backers will simply need to wait for a code to be sent in order for them to access the game on Steam for free.

"Divinity: Original Sin II" will include multiple improvements over the original game such as an improved dialogue system, more classes, improved battle mechanics and an adaptive music system.

Gamespot reveals that Larian Studios confirmed the game is coming out before the end of the year but have not yet released a more specific release date. With the game now launching on Early Access it is possible that the game is set to release by December although this is still unverified.

"Divinity: Original Sin II" will enter Steam Early Access on Sept. 15. No date for its full release has yet been announced.
