Disney World in Orlando, Florida is set to add an animatronic version of U.S. President Donald Trump in its Hall of Presidents. The Hall of Presidents attraction is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 26, where visitors will witness a robotic trump with moving arms, and delivering patriotic speeches. Ahead of the grand reopening of the attraction, what are people saying about the animatronic Trump?
According to reports, the animatronic Trump will be displayed in between former U.S. Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant. The attraction was closed a few days before President Trump was inaugurated into office due to renovations. It was initially estimated that the renovations will end some time in June of 2018, but as it turns out, the workers have completed their task months ahead of schedule.
However, some have pointed out that the animatronic Trump that has been revealed so far does not resemble the current President. According to some comments, the model that Disney has revealed resembles that of a "certain doll from a horror franchise." In a Tweet that has gone viral, the model is described to depict American actor Jon Voight more accurately than Trump.
Additionally, they have also stated that the model resembles Hillary Clinton more than Trump. Madam Tussauds, which is popular for its accurate wax sculptures of celebrities and other famous personalities, has also poked fun of the Trump animatronic. The official Twitter handle for the wax sculpture attraction shows a side-by-side picture of the animatronic and the real-life President Trump, with the caption "ME AT THE START OF 2017 VS ME NOW."
Reports point out that a lot of people are currently speculating if the animatronic was purposely meant to "troll" the current president by making it unappealing to the public eye. In the past few months, 15,000 people signed a petition to Disney World, pleading them not to give the animatronic a speaking role in the tourist attraction. Unfortunately for them, their petition did not push through.
