"Destiny" is set to change dramatically in about two weeks time; but even before the release of the upcoming "The Taken King" expansion, the game is already expected to start being different.

The changes will obviously not be as substantial as the ones coming in "The Taken King" expansion, although they will still be fairly significant for "Destiny" players.

Among the most notable news coming from the upcoming pre-expansion update from Bungie is the fact that players will be given the chance to try out the new Crucible maps and modes that will eventually be part of "The Taken King."

Dubbed as the Crucible Preview Event, "Destiny" players will be given the chance to try out the new content starting Sept. 8, when the update arrives, up until Sept. 14, according to Bungie. The Crucible Preview Event is expected to be just like what players can experience when the expansion arrives, minus the Super abilities which will not be available in the update.

Other changes expected to arrive in the pre-expansion update include alterations being made to attack and defense ratings for several pieces of equipment inside the game. There will also be a new Quest Screen added to the in-game menu. Bounty slots will also be raised to 16 upon the arrival of the pre-expansion update for "Destiny," among other changes being made to the game.

In related news, the King's Fall raid for "Destiny" has now been given an official launch date, IGN reported.

Players can now expect the raid to become available beginning Sept. 18, which would be a few days after "The Taken King" expansion itself is officially launched for the game.

In the King's Fall raid, players will encounter a new boss, named Oryx, who will be leading a new wave of enemies known as the Taken.

"The Taken King" expansion for "Destiny" will be released on Sept. 15.
