'Destiny: House of Wolves' DLC news: Prison of Elders challenge - beaten just hours after release

The race to beat the new challenge, Prison of Elders, on the newly-released "House of Wolves" expansion for the "Destiny" title is over.

The arena is a Horde-style mode made popular by the "Gears of War" title, and "Destiny's" newest challenge is available in three levels: the standard level 32, the more challenging level 34, and the hardest level 35. The arena's challenges were said to be so hard that Forbes even reported that a team of developers from Bungie, the company behind the "Destiny" franchise, could not even beat it.

However, just mere hours after the second expansion for "Destiny" was officially released, a trio of Guardians already conquered the vaunted Prison of Elders, the new co-op arena for the "House of Wolves" expansion.

According to Eurogamer, the team was led by Sunshadowr, and all of his team took the hardest level 35 challenge when the members of the team have just ascended to level 33, which is an achievement all by itself. The video shows that in some instances, the team was hard pressed, and in one occurrence, Sunshadowr got killed even as he delivered a killing blow and earned the Grimoire card for defeating the final boss. Unsurprisingly, though, the team needed more than one attempt in completing the challenge.

The team was the first one to break the Prison of Elders. It might seem impossible to believe given their lower levels, but Sunshadowr is a familiar name for many hardcore "Destiny" players, especially if it involves daunting tasks. The player is well known for making impossible plays possible, including completing the title's Crota's End raid in solo mode without firing a single bullet.

"Prison of Elders" is the only new end-game activity for "House of Wolves," as there is no announced new raid challenge.
