Delirious to Perform at 2004 Athens Olympics

Along with Kutless, multi-award winning British pop and rock worship band Delirious has accepted an invitation to perform at the 2004 Olympic Games on 14th August 2004.

Following up their new international hit album, ‘World Service’, Delirious will perform at the Opening Ceremony of the biggest athletics sporting event in the world.

Delirious has continuously proved its competence in Christian rock music as its range of its audiences has moved up to an international scale. They have performed in the UK and the US, and are now moving on to an even wider global audience. The spirit of their songs composed for worship will be ministered to the masses internationally.

An exact concert time has not yet been confirmed, but Delirious will take part in the Cultural Committee of the event in Athens at Omonia Square.

Delirious have experienced the extent of their global reach this year since their album World Service was released in late 2003 and early 2004. The band’s success in the US has earned the group rave reviews and extended radio airplay time. “Rain Down” and “Majesty” in particular have received great attention in America, and “I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever” was the band’s breakthrough hit taken from their gold-selling 1997 debut album ‘Cutting Edge’.

The band have also been a great sensation in Germany where they have been a hit on mainstream radio stations, and have played a number of high-profile concerts, festivals and have featured on a host of TV shows.

After their appearance at the Olympics, Delirious will tour Sweden and Switzerland before returning to tour their homeland in the UK in October.
