"Deadpool," the upcoming American superhero film featuring Ryan Reynolds as none other than Wade Wilson or the lunatic mercenary Deadpool, is currently in the process of vetting six actresses to play the lead female role in the film.

The list of the six actresses was first revealed by Deadline, and they are:

1. Crystal Reed: The American actress is best known for her role as Allison Argent in the MTV series "Teen Wolf."

2. Sarah Greene: She is well known for her role in the History Channel's "Vikings." She also gave her likeness and voicing talents in the open world action adventure game developed by Ubisoft, "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag."

3. Rebecca Rittenhouse: The actress appeared in the show "Red Band Society."

4. Morena Baccarin: Baccarin appeared in the TV series "Firefly," displaying that she has enough experience to be cast as a lead role in a superhero movie.

5. Jessica De Gouw: She is best known for portraying The Huntress in the superhero series "Arrow."

6. Taylor Schilling: The actress is the star in "Orange is the New Black," which makes her the near perfect choice when it comes to displaying a dark and comedic character.

Fans will remember Reynolds as Deadpool in the 2009 film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" wherein he displayed extraordinary skill and speed in handling a pair of katanas.  His tendency to talk too much was one of his traits, until villain Colonel William Stryker shut his mouth when he turned him into a super mutant.

On Sept. 18, 2014, it was officially announced that "Deadpool" would be released on Feb. 12, 2016, and Tim Miller will be spearheading the project as director.
